Job Description:

Accenture LLP seeks an Application Development Lead in Atlanta, GA to assure customizations/functionality are accurately designed and implemented. S/he will perform the following duties: design, develop, test, and implement Mainframe applications; ensure project compliance to Accenture and client standards to protect client data; handle decisions necessary to build custom solutions within stipulated time lines; prioritize work delivered by the team to ensure timely delivery and meet project goals; ensure action plans are created and completed to facilitate team development; participate in discussions with the client team to understand functional requirements; perform DB2 performance tuning; provide solutions on production issues and new enhancements; understand related SLAs associated with each object delivery; design technical solutions for industry functionalities; analyze and define workarounds to manage industry business processes properly until the issue is fixed; provide analysis related to new potential changes with the current platform along with other downstream systems; monitor and assess resources performance; ensure implementation of soft and hard skill trainings for direct reports per client needs; and facilitate rewards and recognition program.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires at least a bachelors degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, or Engineering (any). Employer will also accept a bachelors equivalent based on a combination of education and experience as determined by a professional evaluation service. Any suitable combination of education and training or experience is acceptable. The position also requires at least 4 years of experience in IT position, including the following experience: 4 years working on the design, development, testing, and implementation of Mainframe (COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL) applications; 4 years performing DB2 performance tuning activities and automation of batch functions using REXX, Visual Basic for Application, and JES2; 2 years overseeing project life cycles utilizing waterfall and Kanban Agile methodology, including providing estimates, performing scope management, and planning and managing deployment; and 3 years overseeing defect management process, maintaining knowledge base, and assessing trends/gaps.
