UX Lead Job Description and Requirements

To support a growing number of opportunities and ensure the positioning of boomerang as a creative leader in Life Sciences, the Experience Design team is looking for a UX Lead. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping and creating compelling and captivating digital solutions that close the gap between companies, physician and patients. This will involve identifying appropriate strategy and approach for projects and proposals, conceiving, overseeing, and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, planning and leading workshops, and translating results and insights into sitemaps, wireframes, prototypes, and other deliverables. You will also define the overall strategy of the product from an experience perspective and iterate upon it to ensure interface design innovation and excellence.





Core Duties and Responsibilities:



Serve as an advocate for users and drive user-centered approach, process and outcomes.

Strategize and participate in user research activities.

Analyze the needs of the target users and how they perform tasks in order to create an informed user experience. Test, iterate, and validate designs.

Collaborate, and engage directly with clients and project stakeholders during co-creation sessions and workshops.

Identify design opportunities and devise elegant, memorable, engaging solutions with a focus on micro-interactions.

Possess a broad vision for the end-to-end experience, both current and future states.

Be comfortable generating innovative and breakthrough ideas for clients.

Translate requirements and user stories into concepts, and facilitate the product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, wireframing, and prototyping intuitive user experiences for digital products.

Interface with the project and development teams to provide guidance and direction regarding user experience during requirements definition through delivery of the final solution and ensure alignment to user needs, business goals, technical feasibility, and implementation quality.

Craft deliverables that are thorough, concise, and well-designed including research reports, heuristic analysis reports, personas, scenarios, functional flows, conceptual models, user flows, user journeys, site maps, and annotated wireframes, specifications, and interactive prototypes ensuring optimization across devices.

Explain, internally and externally, the rationale for UX/UI choices.

Remain focused on project metrics, data insights and analysis to improve design, usability, and engagement. Help guide optimization efforts after launch.

Support the Global Experience Design Director/Global Creative Director/Head of Interaction Design on new business pitches from conception through to final client-facing presentation.

Contribute to the insights and direction of Creative Briefs.

Stay current on emerging trends in online consumer behavior, technologies and design.

Excel at working with all departments to ensure the creative output is world-class and continuously exceptionala particular emphasis here on the partnership with Creative Directors, Art Directors and Graphic Designers to maintain a focus on usability and structural integrity as work is translated to visual design.

Mentor and nurture junior designers, supporting their personal and professional growth and development.

Strong multi-tasker with an ability to think and respond quickly while maintaining attention to detail across multiple projects and teams.

Team player that is resilient, curious, ambitious, humble, and self-learner.




Basic Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Visual Arts / User Experience Design/Human-Computer Interaction/Human Factors, or equivalent


Minimum 8 years of experience in user experience/ interaction design to include:


Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite


Expertise in UX software such as Sketch, OmniGraffle, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq


Ability to travel up to 40%





Preferred Qualifications


Prior experience working in an agency environment


Familiarity with the pharma / health sector is desirable.


An overall understanding of web production and the capabilities within digital channels is essential


Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus
