Job Description

The candidate for this new role of Data Strategy Manager should exemplify a deep understanding of and interest in and a technical / IT mastery of the new generation of business, consumer and economics data and the importance of such data in US and multinational quant research projects. New alternative data include high frequency digital exhausts and machine data used as proxy to socio-economic activities at the aggregate level.

The Data Strategy Manager role will create an active bridge between Accenture Research and 3rd party data providers and academia, bringing in the best external data to fuel Accenture Research thought leadership in a variety of topics to help our clients at the intersection of business, technology and human organizations. The candidate would also influence key internal stakeholders and decision-makers by providing actionable insights related to our usage and return on investments in new data.

Specifically, the Data Strategy Manager will:

+ Be the Go-to subject matter expert and innovator related to alternative data sources providers, in North America and globally.

+ Collaborate in raising awareness and understanding of alternative data that fit the needs of Accenture Research thought leadership agenda, subject matter experts, economists and data scientists

+ Monitor, evaluate, recommend new, relevant, compliant, accurate and reliable data that can inform Accenture s thought leadership and fuel economic models and machine learning algorithms.

+ Technically test and ingest new data on our Accenture Research data lake and providers sandbox environments, working with data engineers and data scientists and organize training and onboarding of users

+ Drive the relationship with the main 3rd party providers to introduce new commercial models for innovation, increase the return on investment

+ Partner with other Accenture Research executives to understand the pipeline of research data needs, ensure the appropriate resources from the research team are focused on priority projects, manage the pipeline, taking responsibility any resourcing issues, ensuring quality and seamless communications throughout

The Data Strategy Manager would report into our global Data Science and Economic Modelling team and would be incentivized to enroll new alternative data sources and unlock trapped research value from that data for thought leadership projects.

Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelors Degree

+ Must have at least 4 or more years of work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Masters Degree in economics, business administration, data analytics or library science, with solid evidence of research experience. Knowledge of data science, database projects, academic data, alternative business /equity research data sources and catalogs would be considered a significant advantage, especially if combined with experience building them or exploiting them for academic or business research purposes

+ Any additional certificates related to data science and economics would be a plus but not required

+ Must have research experience with alternative data in at least 2 domains in this list: geospatial, mobility, ESG, commerce, retail, supply chain, payments, IoT software data, etc.

+ Beginner level mastery of tech tools: API, JSON, SQL

+ Must have experience of working with new data providers or hosts / aggregators

+ Experience with economic modeling, data science and visualization and design thinking as well as public speaking

+ Worked with a start-up, global / large private corporation or institution, research data provider, research think tank or recognized research provider or design company

Professional Skill Requirements:

+ Presented to senior stakeholders

+ Collaborated in a team of researchers, using research tools and methodologies, including on a virtual basis

+ Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian

+ Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian
