The Disability Claims Examiner is responsible for the calculation of Short Term Disability (STD) benefits according to Plan Provisions. This position requires the knowledge and understanding of STD policies and procedures to appropriately calculate the STD benefits due and manage the duration of a disability absence. You will be expected to follow through timely on plans, utilize judgment and assess risk when rendering claim decisions. Additional responsibilities include:





+ Document all claim information including phone calls and correspondence Utilize effective communication to obtain information both verbally and in writing and provide information to the claimant and employer



+ Ability to apply plan provisions



+ Manage the needs of the clients



+ May coach new associates



+ Perform other duties as assigned









Basic Qualifications





+ Minimum 2 years of Disability Claims Processing Experience (STD and LTD)



+ Minimum 2 years of Client facing experience



+ NY Adjustor License





Preferred Qualifications





+ Experience working in the insurance industry





Job Requirements





+ Ability to work between the hours of 7 AM CT and 7 PM CT
