The Cloud Architect will:



Integrate new cloud service provider features into existing client infrastructures, provide engineering recommendations, and resolve integration and testing issues.

Provide technology support related to delivering and modernizing customer environments using a variety of tools leveraging IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.

Define and implement Infrastructure-as-Code best practices/tools in areas such as continuous integration/continuous deployment, environment automation, configuration management.

Architecting and implementing highly-available systems and planning for disaster recovery.

Experience hardening operating systems following CIS and DISA standards.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost, supportability and analyses for total systems.

Research emerging technologies that may be of value to our customer, and present findings orally and in writing.

Document existing architecture and new solutions, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Visio.





Basic Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in related technical discipline

10 years of overall IT experience

3 years related cloud experience

3 years architecture and design experience

Ability to work in a multi-vendor environment, with regular customer interaction

Ability to explain highly technical concepts to non-technical executive audiences

US Citizenship





Preferred Skills and Qualifications:


Cloud certification

Strong working knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure, VMware)

Working knowledge of automation and configuration management technologies (Ansible, Chef, etc.)

Knowledge of Identity and Access Management technologies (LDAP, Active Directory, Red Hat IDM)

Knowledge of federal security standards such as FedRamp, FISMA, RMF, and DoD security policies Strong ability to lead and work in a team environment

Knowledge of the following is desirable:



-System administration (major Linux distributions, Windows)


-Serverless computing


-Scripting development & maintenance (BASH, Python, Ruby, etc.)


-Network administration and troubleshooting


-Load Balancing and proxy configuration


-Database experience with one or more of Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server


-Security and compliance tools like Fortify, Nessus


-Virtualization (VMware, XEN, KVM)


-PaaS technologies (OpenShift, Cloud Foundry etc.)





An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
