The Conversational AI Sr. Engineer develops virtual agent solutions to meet business use cases and to support experimentation and innovation to advance mission outcomes. The architect collaborates with business SMEs, data engineers, developers, data scientists and other technology architects to identify innovative solutions that use AI to meet business goals and transform customer experience. The Conversational AI Architect works with sales and delivery teams throughout the solution process. They provide estimation, solution design and technical proposal support to sales teams and act as a vendor liaison and technology SME during delivery and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

+ Understands and translates business and functional needs into comprehensive solution architecture

+ Translates solution architectures into actionable delivery approach with assumptions, deliverables, notional plan with key milestones and technical skills and staff necessary for implementation

+ Designs and develops scalable solutions that leverage conversational AI to meet enterprise requirements and integrate with existing enterprise systems

+ Evaluates existing enterprise technology landscape to assess how to integrate AI solutions

+ Works closely with other technology architects and developers to create re-usable assets such as frameworks, code accelerators and re-usable product demonstrations

+ Collaborates with development teams to test and deploy conversational AI solutions

+ Creates metrics to continuously evaluate the performance of conversational AI solutions

+ Maintains and improves the performance of existing conversational AI solutions

+ Ensures adherence to performance standards and compliance to data security requirements

+ Keeps abreast with new tools, algorithms and techniques in conversational AI and works to implement them in the organization


+ Proficiency in Natural Language Understanding technologies such as Dialogflow, Lex, LUIS and Rasa

+ Proficiency in at least one leading cloud platform: Google Cloud Platform, AWS or Azure

+ Experience with Federal government systems integration efforts

+ Strong experience with technology architecture, enterprise architecture, patterns and principles

+ Ability to lead small team of technical resources to perform proofs of concept

+ Ability to decompose a solution into milestones and activities required for delivery

+ Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and results to technical and business audiences in a comprehensive manner

+ Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders, including analytics teams, development teams, product management and operations

Basic Skills and Qualifications:

+ 2+ years experience in building, or operating evolving complex enterprise systems

+ Strong Experience with building solutions on one or more Cloud Platforms (GCP, Azure and/or AWS)

+ Productionizing conversational AI solutions

+ Working knowledge and experience with Enterprise Web content management or contact center technologies

+ Knowledge and experience with at least one development language

+ Basic Familiarity with DevOps and continuous integration tools and frameworks

+ Bachelor's degree in preferably Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relative field

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

+ Experience designing and delivering enhancements and new capabilities into an enterprise system

+ Strong Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and functional programming

+ Familiarity with other AI concepts, such as Machine Learning and Robotic Process Automation

+ Scripting skills in at least one of the following: Shell, Perl, Python, Bash, or Ruby

+ Strong grasp of principles and approaches used in creating Production systems for Federal clients

+ Experience with Performance Engineering including testing, tuning and monitoring tools

An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
