Database Administrator will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and repair of databases for a complex, enterprise-level development program. Duties include the development and design of database strategies; monitoring and improving database performance and capacity; data recovery, planning for future expansion and conversion; coordination and implementation of security measures to safeguard organizational databases; implementation and release of database changes as submitted by the development team and general administrator support.





Basic Skills & Qualifications:



+ Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a computer related field (in lieu of a Bachelors Degree, an additional six (6) years of relevant experience, as delineated in this labor category, can be substituted)



+ four (4) years of experience as a Database Administrator, monitoring, administrating, and implementing performance tuning on database systems as well as experience in database performance optimization, developing/changing database indices, redesigning database structure and reloading data into a database



+ four (4) years of experience with logical design, requirement definition, and data administration



+ two (2) years in-depth experience with implementing enterprise applications



+ two (2) years of experience in relevant application database design, development, implementation, test and documentation



Preferred Skills & Qualifications:



+ Experience responding to time-sensitive situations in a fast-paced work environment



+ Experience in PeopleSoft database design and administration or equivalent



+ Experience in the analysis/tuning of databases for PeopleSoft applications



+ UNIX experience



+ Shell scripting experience



+ Procedural language (PL/SQL) knowledge and experience



+ Thorough understanding of current database releases



+ Experience documenting processes


+ Certified PeopleSoft training shall include at a minimum the following two classes: Database Administration class for Oracle or equivalent, PeopleSoft Server Administration & Installation



An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
