People in the Security and Intelligence Directorate maintain strict adherence to government compliance standards to protect the assets entrusted to us by our clients, as well as internally for our company through the industrial and information security departments. Additionally, S&ID provides expertise in the areas of Client Data Protection and Corporate Facility Security for our clients.





The Security & Intelligence Directorate is seeking an experienced Data Protection Consultant who can support and strengthen the Client Data Protection program and raise the bar of Security First across the AFS Enterprise. In this role you will be responsible for working with a cross-functional team of technical and non-technical key stakeholders to effectively drive decision making, influence policy, and strengthen our risk profile. If you enjoy working in a rapidly changing environment with junctions for growth and stabilization and on the frontline with users, this position will provide you with a challenging opportunity.





Other responsibilities include:


Establish credibility and maintain strong working relationships with technical and non-technical teams involved with information security matters (Legal, Business Development, Internal Audit, HR, Physical Security, Developer Community, Networking, Systems, etc.)


Manage and drive the development of security risk management across indirect functions based on identified gaps. Activities will include but are not limited:


Working with key personnel to conduct gap assessments of functional areas and establish remediation plans.


Be able to provide subject matter expertise on Information Security policies, standards, and guidelines.


Drive continuous improvement to operational and automation efficiency.


Develop, review and edit documentation of processes and procedures.


Conduct relevant research, data analysis, and create reports.


Communicate with team members, engineers and Subject Matter Experts, both in writing and verbally.


Maintain responsibility for completion and accuracy of work products.


Work independently and as a team member with desire to be involved .


Manage time effectively working across multiple projects and deadlines.


Learn new skills and is passionate about cyber and security challenges in information technology.


Support ad-hoc data analysis requests.




Basic Qualifications:

+ U.S. Citizenship required

+ Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Information Security, Business or Risk Management or 5 years experience in risk management, business risk analysis and making complex business/risk trade-off recommendations and decisions.

+ 5 years experience in any of the following areas




+ Risk Management


+ Security Audit


+ Security Compliance


+ Identity and Access Management


+ Security Assessment.

+ Demonstrated experience developing and refining technical and business operational processes.






Preferred Qualifications:

+ Excellent leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills

+ Senior-level written and verbal communication skills

+ Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects while knowing when to seek supervisory direction

+ CISA, CISM, CISSP, or other security, audit, or privacy certifications preferred, or the ability to obtain certification within six months

+ Knowledge of Federal computing mandates for IT management and risk frameworks

+ Proven VBA skills demonstrated by previous work experience.

+ Strategic thinker with the ability to see/understand the big picture and understand program direction

+ Effectively manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

+ Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases

+ Proven ability to solve problems and bring clarity to ambiguous situations










An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
