The Security Operations Manager shall serve as team leader for operational activities required to maintain the Consular Affairs production systems security posture in compliance with the Department of States Information Assurance and Compliance policies. The Security Operations team is responsible for supporting the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) process in coordination with CA/CSTs ISSO team. This includes managing POA&M remediation maintaining standard security configurations in compliance with DOS security standards, managing incident response, support security posture assessment and cyber hygiene activities, managing centralized logging and threat analysis, and ensuring consistent, comprehensive and timely patching across the environment.

Basic Skills & Qualifications:

+ 5 years of experience with all phases of IA and accreditation processes

+ Demonstrated experience managing and leading a security operations staff with skills applicable to a project environment similar in size and scope on large scale infrastructure programs, e.g. 150+ VMs, 100+ terabytes of storage, 100-150+ databases, team of 20-30, 1000+ security issues (password resets, account lockouts, intrusion issues, firewall rule maintenance)

+ Demonstrated experience successfully completing the entire certification and accreditation process including receiving Authority to Operate (ATO)

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

+ 8 years of experience securing IT systems and services to Government and industry Information Assurance standards, policies, guidelines, and best practices

+ Demonstrated experience actively managing IT systems and services operations to maintain Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability

+ Demonstrated experience with Information Security Vulnerability Management (ISVM) and POA&Ms

+ Demonstrated experience identifying security risks and develop and apply security risk mitigation strategies

+ Demonstrated experience with encryption devices and procedures as they relate to classified networks

+ Possesses a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (Security+) certification

+ Possesses a Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) certification

An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
