Job Description:

The Sr. SQL Developer Specialist:

+ Acts independently under general direction

+ Provides technical leadership

+ May be required to act as a supervisor

+ Develops, implements, and maintains complex business, accounting, and management information systems

+ Translates designs into computer software programs and code.

+ Tests, debugs and refines the computer software to produce the required product.

+ Prepares required documentation, including those required by the relevant SDLC process

+ Enhances software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency.

+ Works with Business Analysts and users to define existing or new system scope and objectives

+ Performs modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures

+ May assist users in the operations of the application, and support Tier 2/3 help desk activities

The Operations & Maintenance Oracle Developer will provide Production support for a legacy system. Core responsibilities include:

+ Provide day-to-day troubleshooting and investigation on production issues, data fixes, and emergency code fixes

+ Develop code fixes to resolve issues

+ Support quarterly releases into production

+ Work with DBAs and Sys Admins from the Tech Arch team to isolate issues methodically and efficiently

Basic Skills & Qualifications:

+ Experience in application development required

+ Experience, including one or more of the following: use of multi-tier architectures, session management, web-based or web-enabled applications, and Public Key Infrastructure technology preferred

+ 5 years experience in design, development, test, implementation and support of innovative and optimal data solutions

+ Ability to test and tune PL/SQL and SQL code to improve performance.

+ Working knowledge of features such as query optimizer, execution plans, and indexes

+ In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring)

+ Must be on-site at Client site 5 days/week

+ 3 years of advanced hands-on experience with Oracle 11g or Oracle 12g versions of WebLogic, Fusion Middleware

+ 5 years of experience as an Oracle SQL, PL/SQL Developer including moderate experience with Oracle Forms and Reports (last phase of modernization FY20), some maintenance may be required

+ Need to know how to restrict jobs to a RAC node

+ Trouble-shooting experience with these products

+ Need to know how to spawn and monitor threads

+ Need to understand how to use ssh to run commands remotely and scp in a script to transfer files.

+ Need to be able to write scripts in such a way that changes can be backed out if necessary.

+ 4-year degree, preferably with concentration on computer engineering

+ Knowledge or familiarity with Oracle dbms scheduler, Oracle RAC, IBM AIX Korn shell scripts and/or Java (for bee hive)

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

+ Ability to engage with end-users/client to gather requirements for troubleshooting production related issues

+ Supervisory experience

An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
