Job Summary
The Financial Operations Supervisor works directly with senior leadership to optimize the financial performance of the organization, implementing procedures, controls and reporting systems that contribute to the achievement of organizational goals.  The Financial Operations Supervisor also oversees the daily operations of the accounting department to ensure timely and accurate financial information.

  • Coordinate the month and quarterly end financial close and reporting process, prepare monthly financial analysis and variance reporting, manage the balance sheet, facilitate year-end audits, oversee fixed assets and depreciation and manage tax accounts.
  • Supervise the daily functions and activities of the accounting department, establishing performance expectations, coordinating workloads to ensure deadlines are met and developing staff to ensure and maintain the required level of professional competence.
  • Guide and manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, including consolidation and reporting of the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, capital spending, etc.
  • Lead continuous improvement of the FP&A process to maximize process efficiency and forecast accuracy, analyzing current and past trends in key performance indicators including revenue, cost of sales and expenses.
  • Analyze complex financial information and adopt best practices for reporting and performance measurement across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain financial systems and tools to ensure the accurate and time efficient preparation of financial analysis and reports
  • Drive the BI strategy to deliver clear and reliable performance metrics (KPIs) which provide actionable insights to leadership and the entire organization.
  • Collaborate to ensure that system upgrades/enhancements are made to continually optimize the ERP and BI tools.

Required Education & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years in analytics or accounting financial planning and analysis.
  • Two or more years of experience in leading staff and managing complex budgets and financial reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Other Skills & Abilities
  • High level expertise in Excel including modelling and scenario analysis.
  • Ability to problem-solve independently and within teams.
  • Capacity to manage time and coordinate multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
  • Experience documenting processes to assure consistency and repeatability.
  • Highly motivated to cater to business needs improve processes and achieve results.
  • Ability to convert raw data into actionable opportunities.
