Job Description

The Deputy Product Manager is an important member of ACTIs Engineering team. This role centers around coordination and planning of requirements throughout the product lifecycle to include: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements; identifying market trends; and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and support teams to meet revenue and customer satisfaction goals.

In this role, you will be generally responsible for researching, understanding, and communicating end-user needs to drive product requirements; by doing so, you will help the Engineering team enhance and improve product features. The successful candidate is business savvy, can understand the nuances of complicated business algorithms and practices, and has the technical depth to be able to express business knowledge in a form for use by computer engineers.

The Deputy Product Manager also helps facilitate and champion the Agile software development process along with the Engineering team by leading daily Scrum sessions, backlog grooming meetings, sprint planning meetings, and retrospectives.

In this role, you will also furnish the sales team with competitor analysis, market analysis, business performance analysis, and other research information. The successful candidate understands how to best prioritize engineering efforts inside of an Agile construct, and has the technical acumen to drive continual innovation within the Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

+ Assist in developing product strategies that deliver customer value and drive business growth.

+ Act as Scrum Master during daily standup meetings with development teams.

+ Lead collaboration initiatives with developers, business leaders, and quality assurance engineers to translate business objectives into user stories and development efforts.

+ Draft precise, actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

+ Lead stakeholders through story grooming, decomposition, and development estimation.

+ Determine acceptance requirements and test use cases of new and existing features.

+ Prioritize new features to maximize business value and set specific release timelines.

+ Manage product backlog and story refinement meetings.

+ Maintain and curate content within an Atlassian project management suite.

Basic Qualifications

+ College degree or equivalent program completion in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Network Security, Information Security, Information Technology, or Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.

+ Minimum 5 years of experience as a product manager in an Agile development environment

+ Minimum 3 years as a Scrum Master

+ Minimum 2 years of experience in a PaaS / SaaS cyber threat intelligence environment

Required Skills

+ Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time with strict attention to detail.

+ Leadership abilities, including the ability to positively influencing cross-functional team members.

+ Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers to determine requirements and assess business priorities.

+ Attention to detail and deadline-focused.

+ Ability to effectively manage tradeoffs between costs and schedules versus business benefits.

+ Excellent analytical and data management skills.

+ Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

+ Formal Agile training or certification, such as PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Scrum Alliance, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) training and certifications.

Desired Skills

+ Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud offerings.

+ Knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.

+ Knowledge of software architecture principals, graph analytics and network engineering concepts.

+ Experience with the Atlassian tool suite.

+ Healthy energy level with a positive attitude.
