Job Description

About the Role Accenture Research is seeking to hire a senior editor. The editor will be a part of a growing, global team, working with research teams, marketing professionals, and business leaders to create high-quality thought leadership on a wide range of business, technology, and societal issues.

Key Responsibilities

+ Under the direction of Accenture Researchs chief editor, the research editor will:

+ Collaborate with research leaders and other stakeholders on a four-stage process of thought leadership creation. The editor will help shape the idea development in the first three stages, from initial conception of the idea, to a more robust development of the idea and research plan, to a review of the key research findings as they support the idea. In these stages, the editor will participate in team calls, provide informed counsel, and rewrite text, as needed, in collaboration with the research lead and chief editor.

+ In the fourth stage of the process, the editor will work from an initial fully written draft (from the research team) on multiple iterations, rewriting, heavily editing, and shaping the content to the standards of the chief editor and research lead. These efforts will require deep knowledge of Accentures strategy; the range of previous publications and ongoing efforts in related areas; the desired business outcomes at the base of the thought leadership publication; and the key concerns of the involved marketing leaders.

+ In addition to the creation of core thought leadership publications, to be published on Accenture.com, the senior editor will draft or edit articles for publication in top management journals, as well as via social and traditional media. This will also include shaping and creating content for any new channels to market established by Accenture, with a specific focus on digital media (website, app, social media)

+ The editor in this role will have a special focus on thought leadership in North America, and will establish a close working relationship with regional research leaders, and also with select marketing and business leaders.

+ Accenture is a global company, and the editor will need to work across time zones and with people from dozens of countries, working in English but notably with many non-native English speakers.

Basic Qualifications:

+ An undergraduate degree (bachelors degree) and graduate degree (a masters degree).

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Five or more years experience as an editor with a business, management, or technology publication and/or as a thought leadership editor with a professional services firm.

+ Experience writing/editing for digital channels especially web sites, social media etc.

+ Authored external publications in IT Services/technology topics

Professional Skills:

+ A demonstrated ability to edit, rewrite, and ghost-write published reports, articles, and other materials on business, management, and technology issues.

+ A demonstrated ability to work effectively in complex, challenging stakeholder environments.

+ The imagination and empathy to write persuasively and authoritatively for C-level executives and other senior leaders in global organizations, with an emphasis on executive-to-executive communication.

+ The ability to balance multiple considerations in creating thought leadershipideas, research inputs, intended business outcomes, brand considerations.

+ A high degree of intellectual curiosity in the areas of business, management, and technology; with ongoing learning about seminal ideas, key thinkers, and competitor analysis.

+ An ability to take direction and coaching from the chief editor and other senior editors.

+ An ongoing desire to improve writing skills and business knowledge.

+ Ability with Word essential; facility with PowerPoint useful

+ Understanding of key competitors and their thought leadership channels

+ Understanding of research techniques; ability to analyze data and research findings.

+ Interest in digital media communication (website, app, social media)
