Job Description



The Global Services Legal team is seeking to appoint a counsel to act as Services Counsel. In-house, public sector and private practice candidates will all be considered, but experience of working with international teams in a global business, supporting technology, and taking products and services to market are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
The role includes delivering and coordinating legal counsel in support of the Operations Business strategy, working to help the Operations Business manage and mitigate risks, comply with laws and company policies, and undertake ethical considerations in its endeavors.



Key responsibilities of the role include:





+ Collaborative working with the Operations Business teams to evaluate the technology related to Operations Business offerings well enough to review inbound technology and data supply templates/agreements and outbound or client facing templates in different geographies, industries and regulatory environments.



+ Working with the Operations Business and other lawyers/SMEs to develop clear communication messages, guidance, templates and trainings regarding the technology/data components of offerings and services for sales and go to market teams, offering development teams, technical teams and the rest of the Legal organization.



+ Team with other lawyers/SMEs in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating complex technology transaction agreements



+ Developing strong relationships within the Operations business, Global Services Legal team and broader legal organization.



+ Taking on assignments as required by designated Legal Lead for Operations Technology matters.







Basic Qualifications:





+ JD degree or equivalent degree or legal qualification.



+ Admitted to the bar (or local equivalent) and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law. A Common Law qualification is preferred.



+ 6+ years legal experience of relevant attorney work, including technology transactional experience either in drafting and negotiating technology focused client facing and/or vendor facing agreements and/or product counsel experience related to bringing software assets and related offerings to market in a legally compliant manner





Preferred Qualifications:





+ Understanding of legal issues related to bringing new assets and offerings to market in a legally compliant manner, including offerings utilizing machine learning, third party data, or the delivery of digital marketing campaigns



+ Working knowledge of: (a) privacy issues regarding consumer or personally identifiable data; (b) IP law; and (c) open source licensing



+ Experience with data licensing or monetization strategies.



+ Understanding connection between in-bound agreements and client-facing agreements.



+ Risk analysis, appreciation and management;



+ In-house experience



+ Interest in technology

+ Have strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills



+ Have a pragmatic and practical approach to legal advice and legal support



+ Be able to explain legal issues and the real-world impact of the issues in a way that is understood by non-lawyers



+ Have good negotiation skills, including internally within the company and with customers or suppliers.



+ Apply good judgment, an ability to analyse, prioritize and make decisions, and spot and mitigate risks



+ Be proficient in the use of MS Office Suite of products; and



+ Be proficient at speaking English.







+ Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian



+ Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian
