The Tools & Automation Team manages more than 200 Enterprise Tools, Home Grown Tools and Monitoring Tools across the enterprise. Beside Tools administration, the team also is responsible to driving enterprise wide automations pertaining to Infrastructure. The Tools Team works with multiple infrastructure teams to identify areas of automation and drive the same to reduce human intervention, increase ROI and reduce manual/repetitive effort.

This Tools and Automation Engineer position within Tools Team is to take ownership of Monitoring and Event Aggregation tools like AppDynamics, DynaTrace, Netcool, BMC Patrol and BSM and also work on automating solutions using Operational Orchestration tools like MicroFocus OO, Chef, Ansible etc.

Job Description
The Tools and Automation Engineer is expected to be able to operate with minimal supervision in managing their team and resolution of incidents and must communicate with the client and other service providers in a collaborative and professional manner. The role is a highly visible and so excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Additional responsibilities include:
Troubleshoot Issues - When technical issues with the product arise, you must act quickly to analyze the available data and find the root cause of the problem. You may then develop a solution themselves or pass the problem on to other engineering team members, all the while providing users with progress updates.
Contribute in enhancement design and development: Participate in all stages of the product development process, including designing, building, and testing.
Focus on Automation: Should be able to identify key areas of automation and create useful tools such as internal software to automate key processes or platforms where customers can send inquiries and reviews.
Assist Users: This role entails interacting with product users, often employees but sometimes external customers. These interactions can occur in various setups, including in-person meetings, phone calls, emails, and live messaging chats. In all of these cases, its vital to address concerns promptly and maintain a helpful attitude.
Prepare Technical Documentation: Responsible for preparing extensive documentation when logging product issues, as they must note all details, including their observations, diagnoses, and action steps. Other common tasks include weekly reports summarizing production performance, release notes for upgrades, and troubleshooting guides.
Suggest Improvements: As you will deal product issues first-hand, they can readily suggest overall product improvements, such as features that customers want. Ideally, they should also proactively evaluate engineering processes and provide recommendations to increase efficiency.
Adhering to and ensuring adherence to Accenture and client processes and utilizing any mandated or provided tools.
Responsible for ensuring that all Service Levels are met and other contractual requirements are complied with.
Coordinating effective and rapid response by resolver teams to all major incidents.
Manages escalations from the key stakeholders and expedites the incident resolution process positively for timely resolution of service impacting incidents.
Continual Service Improvement including; suggesting process improvements for those services being provided and implementation of suggestions.

Basic Qualifications
2 years of experience with at least 1 programming language. Either Java, .Net or Python
2 years of experience with at least 1 scripting language. Shell, Perl or Powershell preferred
2 years of experience with 1 Enterprise wide APM tool. Dynatrace, AppD, NewRelic or Introscope
2 years of experience with 1 Infrastructure monitoring tool. BMC Patrol, MS SCOM, BAC or Netcool
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)
It is currently our objective to assign our people to work near where they live. However, given the nature of our business and our need to serve clients, our employees must be able to travel when needed. This role requires 100% flexibility to travel and work onsite with clients (typically Monday through Thursday)

Preferred Skill Requirements
Experience with supporting Production Systems
Knowledge of Ticketing tools like Service Now.
Familiarity with the Entity framework.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
Skill for writing reusable libraries
Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
Knowledge of concurrency patterns
Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server/Oracle and stored procedures.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (Git/SVN)
A good level of knowledge in ITIL service management framework.
